The Core at Steel Hands Brewing
May 16, 2026 · Cayce, SC
The Core opened for Tribute: A Celebration of The Allman Brothers Band on May 16, 2026, at Steel Hands Brewing in Cayce, marking both the band's first show in the city and their first visit to the venue. The seventeen-song set drew from a wide range of sources: "Chilly Water" and "Makes Sense to Me" from Widespread Panic, "What Would You Say" and "Ants Marching" from Dave Matthews Band, "Down With Disease" from Phish, "Remedy" from The Black Crowes, "Cortez the Killer" from Neil Young & Crazy Horse, and others. Chris Queen and Bill Taylor each marked their 40th show with the band, while "Pleas" and "Jimi Thing" reached their 25th performance, and "Cortez the Killer" returned after 45 months away, last heard in August 2022. Neal Lucas joined the band for the night.
