Tribute: A Celebration of The Allman Brothers Band at Visulite Theatre

July 22, 2023 · Charlotte, NC

Tribute: A Celebration of The Allman Brothers Band took the stage at Visulite Theatre in Charlotte on July 22, 2023, six months after their last appearance there. The band worked through 24 songs anchored by the Allman Brothers' catalog: "Dreams," "Blue Sky," "Jessica," "Midnight Rider," "Ramblin' Man," and "Whipping Post" stood alongside deeper material like "Ain't Wastin' Time No More," "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," and "Soulshine." The set also drew from the blues sources the Allmans had long favored, including T-Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday," Muddy Waters' "Trouble No More," and Blind Willie McTell's "Statesboro Blues." Oliver Nichols, Rod Gunther, Grant Reynolds, Henry Davis, Mark Bishop, Brad Berry, John Marsten, and Bill Taylor carried the evening.
