The Bitteroots at The Hummingbird
December 14, 2019 · Macon, GA
The Bitteroots played The Hummingbird in Macon on December 14, 2019, their ninth visit to the venue and tenth show in the city. Mike Davis marked his 175th appearance with the band, while "October" reached its 75th outing in the band's catalog. The 36-song set opened with originals "Let's Go" and "October" before moving through a mix including "Midnight Rider" from The Allman Brothers Band, "Jolene", "Ramble On", and "Born to Run". "I Need to Know", a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song, made its debut in The Bitteroots' setlist. Late in the show came "I Wish" and "Superstition", both absent from their sets for over two years, alongside "Gimme Shelter", "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", and closer "Whipping Post".
