The Bitteroots at The Hummingbird
May 11, 2019 · Macon, GA
The Bitteroots returned to The Hummingbird on May 11, 2019, their first show at the venue in 12 months. The nineteen-song set drew heavily from their own catalog, with "Pete" and "Temptation" resurfacing after unplayed stretches since May 2014. "Whipping Post", the Allman Brothers classic, marked the band's 75th performance of the song, while covers of Dolly Parton's "Jolene", Bill Withers' "Use Me", and Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" rounded out a night that moved through "Let's Go", "October", "French Fries", "Clearly", "Under the Big Sky", "Sinnin'", "No Demands", "Other Door", "Souvenirs", "No Place to Go", "Defenseless", "Desperate", and "Try Me Again".
