The Bitteroots at The Hummingbird
August 6, 2016 · Macon, GA
The Bitteroots returned to The Hummingbird for their fourth visit to the venue, coming back after four months away from Macon. They opened with their original "Desperate" and built a 24-song set that mixed their own material with covers spanning soul, rock, and blues, including "Evidence" by Candi Staton, "Lenny" by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, "Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones, and "Whipping Post" by The Allman Brothers Band. The night marked the debut of "Rebel Yell," a Billy Idol cover, while "Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad?" by Derek and the Dominos reached its 25th performance with the band.
