The Bitteroots at The Hummingbird
May 2, 2015 · Macon, GA
The Bitteroots played their first show ever in Macon at The Hummingbird on May 2, 2015, marking both a debut city and a debut venue for the band. The 24-song set wove together originals like "This Town", "Memo", and "Desperate" alongside covers including "Cissy Strut" by The Meters, "Jolene" by Dolly Parton, "Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones, and "Whipping Post" by The Allman Brothers Band. Bill Taylor appeared for his 100th show with the band, and "Let's Go" received its first-ever performance, while "Upside Down", absent from the setlist for 83 months since May 2008, returned to the night.
