The Bitteroots at Ronnie John's Sunset Grille
August 9, 2014 · Woodstock, GA
The Bitteroots played their first show in Woodstock at Ronnie John's Sunset Grille on August 9, 2014. This 44-song set marked the debut of several covers new to the band's catalog, including "Purple Rain," "Free Fallin'," "Layla," and "Wonderwall," alongside originals like "Under the Big Sky," "Clearly," and "Blue." "Memo," one of the band's own songs, reached its 50th performance, while "Creep" resurfaced after 50 months away since June 2010 and "Beast of Burden" returned following 22 months since September 2012. The band drew from a wide palette across the night, moving through material ranging from John Prine and Prince to Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix.
