The Druthers at Decatur Square
May 26, 2006 · Decatur, GA
The Druthers performed at Decatur Square on May 26, 2006, running through a 21-song set that mixed covers from across rock and soul with four of their own originals. The night drew from a wide well: "Black Magic Woman" and "Gypsy Queen" from Santana sat alongside "Hey Bulldog" and "Taxman" from The Beatles, Van Morrison's "Domino" and "Into the Mystic", and cuts from Tom Petty, Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, and others. "Domino" marked a return after more than two and a half years away from the stage, last played in November 2003. The originals "Saddle Sore", "Still Today", "Vowels", and "Watchin' The Roses Burn" anchored the set alongside the covers, with Jeff Gjersoe, Ken Venator, Bill Taylor, and Chris Bagnato shaping the evening.
